Thinking about keeping chickens? Or recently started your poultry journey and looking for a bit more guidance and confidence?

Starter Courses

At Brae Croft, we offer small, beginner-friendly poultry keeping courses designed to help new keepers get started the right way. These relaxed, hands-on sessions will take place here at the Brae Cottage, giving you the chance to learn in a practical setting.

Whether you're still in the planning stage or have already welcomed a few hens into your garden, these courses aim to give you the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to care for your flock.

Refreshments will be available during the session.

Courses will run in small groups so everyone has the opportunity to ask questions and take part in practical demonstrations. The aim is to keep the sessions relaxed, informative and friendly, with plenty of time to talk through each topic in detail, and chat through your own plans.

How to book:

If you’re interested in joining one of our Brae Croft Poultry Starter Courses, we’d love to hear from you.

As these sessions are designed to be small and personal, places will be limited to ensure everyone has plenty of time to ask questions and take part in the practical elements of the course.
